The Summer Business Academy promotes both concrete technical and social management skills. Each day begins with an in-depth analysis of one aspect of business, such as developing an effective pitch, conducting SWOT analysis, or implementing market research. In the afternoon, students transition to team-based activities that promote effective communication and collective execution. Over the course of five days, the program guides students through the integral components of launching a business: idea generation, market research, customer research, competitive analysis, the business plan, and the elevator pitch. Beyond business components, the Summer Business Academy also provides insight into interview strategies and resume building skills to help students land any coveted internship or job. The Summer Business Academy at Harvard aims to provide students with a comprehensive education of business fundamentals and a valuable hands-on experience so they will be ready to enter and succeed in the business world.
